The Rev. Dr. John C. (Jack) Davidson is originally from the Cleveland area and attended both Lutheran East and Lutheran West High Schools. Pastor Davidson did his undergraduate work at Concordia Teacher’s College, River Forest, earning his degree in 1978. Upon graduation, he entered Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, earning the Master of Divinity degree in 1982. Seeking to further his education, Pastor Davidson completed the Master of Sacred Theology program at Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne, in 1990, then went on to earn the Doctor of Ministry degree at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
Pastor Davidson was called to be pastor of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lancaster in 1982. He has served the Church at large as a member of the Board of Parish Services in the Ohio District, Circuit Counselor, and currently serves as 1st Vice President of the Ohio District. He is also on the Board of Trustees for Ohio District Lutheran Church Extension Fund, on the Board of Directors for Lutheran Social Services Central Ohio, as well as on the Board of Directors for Geneva Hills. Pastor Davidson has served the community as a member of the Strategic Planning Group for the Lancaster City Schools, and continues to serve as Chaplain of the Fairfield County Charity Newsies and as an Assistant to the Fairfield County Coroner. In his free time he currently volunteers on the sport staff for WFCO radio.
Pastor Davidson resides in Lancaster with his wife Luann. They have been blessed with four children – Rachel, who is married to Charles Elsea, Emily, Andrew and Mark. It is with thanksgiving that he has had the opportunity to serve solely at Redeemer since his Ordination in 1982.
