Pastor Jack Davidson has been serving Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lancaster since 1982. This year Pastor Davidson will celebrate his 39th year at Redeemer. Reared in Cleveland, Jack attended Lutheran East for two years and is a graduate of Lutheran West. Advanced studies beyond the M.Div. include a Master’s of Sacred Theology and Doctor of Ministry degree. Over the years Jack has had the honor of serving as Circuit Counselor, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice President under several district presidents, as a member of the Ohio District Board of Directors, and member of the Board of Trustees of the Ohio District Lutheran Church Extension Fund. He is a graduate of the Doxology program and has also served as a facilitator for the Synod’s Koinonia Project. Jack also served a six- year term on the Board of Directors of Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio where he served on the Committee for Nominations and Development, the Committee for Strategic Planning, and on the Executive Committee. He is presently the Chaplain for the Charity Newsies of Fairfield County and the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office. When not behind the pulpit, Jack can often be found behind the microphone announcing play-by-play for local high school and colleges on the radio, internet and television sports broadcasts.
Along with his calling to the parish ministry, Jack professes that his family provides his greatest joy. Married to Luann for 39 years, their family includes daughter Rachel and husband, Charles Elsea, Emily, Drew, Mark and wife Abby, along with their four grandchildren. The Davidson family enjoys spending time in each other’s company (especially at the beach) and together they form a united front in eternally supporting Cleveland sports teams.
